In the spring of 2011, Pittsburgh became the 5th Human Rights City in the United States. Human Rights City Alliance is a growing network of activists and organizations working to change regional policies and build community to make the Human Rights City vision a reality. Between April 15 and May 1, people of Pittsburgh are coming together in actions that demand a city that works for all of its residents. We are working to build an economy for people that pays living wages to workers and supports health care and a clean environment for all. We demand that our political leaders respect and restore our democracy to allow for community-based solutions that put people and planet over profits and that looks to the needs of future generations. We demand that all people be treated with dignity, regardless of their gender, race, sexuality, or nationality. Another world is possible, and we are building it in Pittsburgh, a Human Rights City!
Raise your voice for human rights!
